Paulette Mastin is a partner in Reed Smith LLP’s Financial Industry Group specialising in Capital Markets in London.  She has over two decades of experience advising financial institutions, corporate trustees, other service providers and corporates on a wide spectrum of capital market transactions, structured finance products, project finance, Islamic finance, sustainable finance and banking transactions.  She also advises on corporate and debt restructurings, distressed debt, special situations and default litigation. 

 

Paulette is a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Black Counsel Forum (UK & Europe’s largest summit of Black legal professionals), former Chair of the Black Solicitors Network (a non-profit member organisation, committed to achieving equality of access, retention, and progression of UK Black lawyers) and an award-winning racial diversity advocate.  She is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and was made a Chartered Manager (CMgr) by the CMI.  

 

Paulette was awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025 for outstanding contributions to promoting and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession.
